What you get on GoldStarred
GoldStarred is built so a business can show real reviews on its own site without signing up for a year. The Free plan covers reviews of your business, a public profile and badge, a verified domain, honest review labels, 75 review invites a month, an unlimited review link and QR code, replies to reviews and flagging. Your profile becomes a page Google can list once it holds three published reviews.
Growth ($17 a month) adds reviews for up to 25 products, apps or courses, each with its own widget and Google markup, 250 invites a month with automatic reminders, social cards and CSV export. You paste one snippet, and each product is added the first time its widget loads on your verified site. Pro ($37 a month) adds unlimited products and invites, up to 5 websites on one account, import from other platforms, a badge without the GoldStarred line and priority support. See GoldStarred plans.
How reviews arrive on each
On GoldStarred, customers can review you from an invite or from your review link, and every review shows a label for how it arrived: Verified when the business supplied an order reference, Invited, Organic, Imported or Incentivised. An incentivised review is labelled, not hidden.
Trustpilot's Guidelines for Businesses (version 7, May 2025) say "Reviewers don't need to be invited to leave a review". Invitations "must be fair, neutral, and unbiased, with no incentives offered", and businesses "must only use Trustpilot's supported invitation methods to request reviews". The guidelines also tell businesses not to be selective, which includes "inviting only those people who you know have had a positive experience".
Pricing and contracts side by side
For one UK website, using listed prices (the yearly totals are our arithmetic):
- Up to 75 invites a month: GoldStarred Free, £0. Trustpilot Free covers 50 invitations a month, £0.
- 100 invites a month: GoldStarred Growth, £17 a month, so £204 a year. Trustpilot Starter, from £119 a month billed annually, so £1,428 a year.
- 300 invites a month: GoldStarred Pro, £37 a month, so £444 a year. Trustpilot Plus, from £289 a month billed upfront annually, so £3,468 a year for one domain.
- Several websites: GoldStarred Pro covers up to 5 for £37 a month. Trustpilot says "Each domain priced separately" and asks for every domain to give a quote.
Trustpilot's Starter plan is available only to new customers below a revenue limit, shown as up to $1M on the UK page and up to $5M on the US page.
Trustpilot's contract terms in its own words
From Trustpilot's Terms of Use and Sale for Businesses, version 9.0, in effect from 23 June 2026:
- Term: "Most subscriptions run for 12 months" (section 6), and the plans page says "Our initial contract term is 12 months, prepaid."
- Renewal: the subscription "will automatically renew for a further subscription period" (section 6).
- Price at renewal: Trustpilot "may (without informing you) increase the total price of your subscription by up to 5%", or give at least 45 days' notice of a different increase (section 6).
- Notice: cancel "at least 30 days before the end of your current subscription period" (section 35).
- Payment: "the fees for each subscription period are owed to us upfront" (section 29).
- Refunds: "we will not owe you any refund or credit if you or we terminate your subscription in accordance with these terms" (section 27).
- After the term: "you will still have access to the services provided in our free plan" (section 35).
Trustpilot "may (without informing you) increase the total price of your subscription by up to 5%" when it renews (section 6).
GoldStarred plans are billed monthly, with no annual contract and no notice period, and you can cancel any time.
Fair treatment and moderation
GoldStarred's moderation rules are public and identical on every plan. A business can reply to a review and flag one for checking, and every business plays by the same rules: no business can hide, delay, edit or reorder reviews, or pay to. Ranking uses review data only, never payment.
GoldStarred's fake review policy says invitations must be neutral and must not offer an incentive, and it treats inviting only happy customers as a fake-review practice. Where a business did offer a reward, the review carries the Incentivised label.
Trustpilot publishes its own rules in its Guidelines for Businesses, quoted above: no incentives and no selective invitations. Google's rules for its own reviews also prohibit incentives and selectively asking for positive reviews.
Where Trustpilot is the better choice
- You already have Trustpilot reviews. Your profile and history are there, and Trustpilot's terms say you keep its free plan after a paid term ends.
- You want to trial a larger paid plan. Trustpilot Plus offers a 14-day free trial. Premium (1,000 invitations a month) and Enterprise (unlimited) are priced by quote on the UK page.
Where GoldStarred is the better choice
- You want to pay monthly. No annual contract, no prepaid year, cancel any time.
- You run more than one website. Pro covers up to 5 sites for one price, with no per-domain fee.
- You want product reviews. Growth adds up to 25 products, apps or courses with their own widgets and Google markup, which makes those pages eligible for star ratings, and Pro makes products unlimited.
- You send more invites than a free plan allows. GoldStarred Free gives 75 invites a month and an unlimited review link.
- You want the same moderation on every plan. Replying, flagging, moderation and ranking work identically on Free, Growth and Pro, and the rules are published at /legal/moderation.
Moving over, or running both
GoldStarred Pro imports reviews from other platforms and labels each one Imported, so readers can see where it came from. You can also keep a Trustpilot profile and add GoldStarred to your own site; GoldStarred works alongside any other review platform. Frequently asked questions
Is GoldStarred a Trustpilot alternative?
Yes. GoldStarred gives a business a public review profile, a badge and widgets for its own site, review invites and an unlimited review link. It is free to start, and its paid plans are billed monthly with no per-domain fee.
Is GoldStarred free?
Yes. The Free plan costs nothing and includes reviews of your business, a public profile and badge, a verified domain, 75 review invites a month, an unlimited review link and QR code, replies and flagging. Growth is $17 a month and Pro is $37 a month.
Can I show GoldStarred reviews on my website?
Yes. Every plan includes a badge for your site, added by pasting one script tag. Growth and Pro add product reviews: paste one snippet, and each product, app or course is added the first time its widget loads on your verified site, with its own widget and Google markup.
Is GoldStarred cheaper than Trustpilot?
On listed prices, yes. GoldStarred Growth is £17 a month in the UK ($17 elsewhere), billed monthly. Trustpilot Starter on its UK page is from £119 a month per domain, billed annually on a 12-month commitment. Each plan has its own mix of features, so compare the parts you need.
Do I need a contract with either?
Trustpilot says all its paid contracts are a 12-month commitment that renews automatically unless you give notice at least 30 days before the end. GoldStarred plans are monthly with no annual contract, and you can cancel any time.
How are GoldStarred reviews verified?
Every review carries a label showing how it arrived: Verified when the business supplied an order reference, Invited, Organic, Imported or Incentivised. Businesses can reply to any review, and no business can hide, edit or reorder one.
Does paying GoldStarred change how my reviews are treated?
Every plan is treated the same. Replying, flagging, moderation and ranking work the same way on Free, Growth and Pro, ranking uses review data only, and no business can pay to remove a review.
Does GoldStarred help with star ratings in Google?
Yes, for your products, apps and courses. On Growth and Pro, each one gets its own widget with Google markup, which makes its page eligible for star ratings in search results.
Can I use GoldStarred and Trustpilot together?
Yes. GoldStarred works alongside any other review platform. If you already have a Trustpilot profile, Trustpilot's terms say you keep access to its free plan after a paid subscription ends.
