What Birdeye is built for
Birdeye presents itself to multi-location brands: its site announces "AI Coworkers for Multi-Location Brands", and its Reviews page promises "Every rating and review, from every site, in one place" (Birdeye). Its review agent "Asks each customer at the moment they're most likely to respond" and "Reaches out on the channel that gets the most responses", and its reply agent "Responds in your brand voice" and "Posts on its own, or holds for approval - you decide". Birdeye is also on Google's list of review partners for store ratings (Google).
If you run many locations and want reviews, listings and messaging from one vendor, that breadth is the point. If you want reviews collected and shown fairly at a price you can read before you call anyone, the rest of this page is for you.
Prices: published or quoted
Birdeye's pricing page says "Pricing built around outcomes, not seat counts" and "One platform, one contract - replace point products and pay only for what you deploy at your locations". It shows a form asking for your number of locations, from "1-3 locations" to "1000+ locations", with a "GET PRICING" button, and no prices (Birdeye pricing). We found no free plan or trial on that page.
GoldStarred's prices are on its pricing section (GoldStarred plans):
- Free, $0: reviews of your business, a public profile and badge, a verified domain, honest review labels, a page Google can list, 75 review invites a month, an unlimited review link and QR code, replies and flagging.
- Growth, $17 a month: everything in Free, plus reviews for up to 25 products, apps or courses, each with its own widget and review page, 250 invites a month with automatic reminders, social cards and CSV export.
- Pro, $37 a month: everything in Growth, plus unlimited products and invites, up to 5 websites on one account, import from other platforms, the badge without the GoldStarred line and priority support.
Birdeye's contract terms in its own words
From Birdeye's Terms and Conditions, effective 13 May 2026. Your own order form can set different terms, so read it too.
- Renewal (section 2.3): "Unless otherwise noted in the Order Form or Statement of Work, any agreement for Services will auto renew for the same period of time as the initial term of the agreement unless written notice of non-renewal is provided to BirdEye at least 90 days prior to the date of renewal."
- Cancelling (section 5.1): "all payment obligations under any and all Order Forms or Statements of Work are non-cancellable and all payments made are non-refundable."
- Price at renewal (section 6): "Birdeye will apply an 8% fee on all recurring Services fees to cover product innovations, enhanced services and inflation", applied "automatically upon any auto renewal", unless the agreement was made before 1 April 2024 or specifically changes the fee.
- Invoices (section 2.1): payments are "due net-thirty (30) days from Client's receipt of BirdEye's invoice".
Birdeye's terms say an agreement "will auto renew for the same period of time as the initial term of the agreement unless written notice of non-renewal is provided to BirdEye at least 90 days prior to the date of renewal."
GoldStarred plans are billed monthly with no annual contract, and you can cancel at any time by emailing us (terms for businesses). The price you join at holds while you stay (GoldStarred).
How reviews are labelled and treated
On GoldStarred, every review carries a label for how it arrived: Verified when the business supplied an order reference, otherwise Unverified, then Invited, Organic or Imported, and Incentivised if a reward was involved (how we verify reviews). Reviews are shown newest first, and nobody can hide, delay or reorder one because of payment, plan or rating.
Replying, flagging, moderation and ranking work the same way on Free, Growth and Pro, and the rules are public (moderation). Your public profile is a page Google can list once it holds 3 published reviews, and verifying your domain earns a link from that profile back to your site.
Where Birdeye is the better choice
- You run many locations and want one vendor for reviews, listings and messaging across all of them.
- You want AI agents that ask for reviews and post replies for you.
- You want a Google store-ratings partner. Birdeye is on Google's list of supported review partners; GoldStarred is not.
Where GoldStarred is the better choice
- You want to see the price first. Every plan and limit is published.
- You want to start free. The Free plan needs no card.
- You want to pay monthly. No annual term, no notice period, no renewal fee.
- You want readers to see how each review arrived. Every review carries a label.
- You want the same rules whatever you pay. Moderation and ranking never change with your plan.
- You sell products, apps or courses. Growth gives each of up to 25 its own widget and review page, which for products and apps carries the Google markup that makes it eligible for star ratings; Google decides.
Moving over
Before you switch, find the renewal date and notice period in your Birdeye order form; under its standard terms, notice of non-renewal is due at least 90 days before renewal. GoldStarred Pro imports reviews from other platforms and labels each one Imported. For other options, see Trustpilot alternatives and, for display widgets, Elfsight alternative.
Frequently asked questions
How much does Birdeye cost?
Birdeye does not publish prices. Its pricing page asks for your details and number of locations, from 1-3 up to 1000+, and a price follows. GoldStarred publishes its prices: Free, Growth at $17 a month and Pro at $37 a month.
Does Birdeye have a free plan?
We found no free plan or free trial on Birdeye's pricing page. GoldStarred's Free plan includes a public profile, a badge for your site, 75 review invites a month and an unlimited review link and QR code.
Can I cancel Birdeye at any time?
Birdeye's terms say agreements auto renew for the same period as the initial term unless written notice of non-renewal reaches Birdeye at least 90 days before renewal, and that payment obligations under order forms are non-cancellable. Check your own order form, which can set different terms.
What is the Birdeye Innovation Fee?
Birdeye's terms say that at auto renewal it applies an 8% fee on all recurring services fees, unless your agreement was made before 1 April 2024 or specifically changes the fee.
Is GoldStarred a Birdeye alternative?
For collecting reviews, showing them on your website and replying to them, yes, with published prices and monthly billing. It does not offer the listings, messaging or AI agents that Birdeye sells to multi-location brands.
Does GoldStarred charge per location?
No. Prices are per account. Growth covers one website, and Pro covers up to 5 websites on one account, with no per-domain fee.
