Website terms of use
Last updated 25 October 2026
Draft prepared 25 October 2026; awaiting review by a solicitor.
These terms apply to anyone who visits or uses the GoldStarred website at https://goldstarred.com, including its public review profiles. By using the site you accept them. If you run a business account or write a review, our terms for businesses or our terms for reviewers apply as well, and where they say something different, those terms win. Questions go to hello@goldstarred.com.
1. Who runs this site
GoldStarred is run by the company named at the foot of this page. "We", "us" and "our" mean that company.
2. Using the site
You may read, search and share the site for your own information, including to decide whether to trust a business. You must not:
- break the law, or help anyone else to, while using the site;
- try to get into parts of the site, accounts or systems you are not allowed to reach, or test them for weaknesses without our written permission;
- interfere with how the site works, for example by overloading it, or by sending viruses or other harmful code;
- copy reviews or profiles in bulk by scraping, crawling or any other automated means, except search engines indexing pages we let them index;
- present our content as your own, or suggest that we endorse you or your business when we do not;
- use the site to send spam or to harass anyone.
If you break these rules we may block your access.
3. Reviews and other people's content
Reviews are the opinions of the people who wrote them, not ours. Business profiles are written by the businesses. We check reviews and moderate them under our published policies, but we cannot promise that every review or profile is accurate or complete. If you think a review or profile breaks our rules or the law, tell us through our complaints and takedown process.
4. Intellectual property
We own, or are licensed to use, the site's design, software, text, the GoldStarred name, logo and badge. Reviewers keep the rights in their reviews and give us a licence to publish them; businesses do the same for their profiles. You may link to any public page, and quote short extracts if you say where they came from and do not change their meaning. Anything else needs our written permission. The badge and widget may be used only by businesses, on the terms for businesses.
5. Links to other sites
Business profiles and reviews link to other websites. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, their products or how they use your data. A link is not an endorsement. Check their own terms and privacy policies.
6. Availability
We work to keep the site running and accurate, but we provide it as it is and as available. We do not promise that it will always be available, uninterrupted, secure or free of errors, and we may change, suspend or withdraw any part of it at any time. We will try to give notice of planned downtime where we reasonably can.
7. Our liability to you
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability that the law does not allow us to limit, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud. Nothing affects your rights as a consumer.
Subject to that, the site is free to visit, and we are not liable for any loss that comes from relying on a review, a profile or anything else on it, or from the site being unavailable. We are not liable for loss of profit, sales, business, data or goodwill, or for loss we could not reasonably have foreseen. If you use the site for business, our liability is further limited as set out in the terms for businesses.
8. Privacy and cookies
Our privacy policy explains how we use personal data, and our cookie policy lists every cookie the site sets. Analytics cookies are set only if you agree, and you can change your choice at any time.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example when the law or the site changes. The version on this page, with the date at the top, is the one that applies when you use the site.
10. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, although if you live elsewhere in the UK you can also use the courts where you live.
